Disney Plus officially beginning the Hulu gradual shutdown

Disney is officially beginning the gradual shutdown of the standalone Hulu app in February 2026. This move is part of a broader strategy to fully integrate Hulu’s library into the Disney+ platform, creating a unified streaming hub.

Key details regarding the 2026 transition include:

First Major Shutdown: The Hulu app will be removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop on February 5, 2026, and support for the app on that console will end the same day.

Gradual Phase-Out: Following the February start, Disney plans a device-by-device removal of the standalone app throughout the year, with a goal of a complete shutdown by mid-2026.

Continued Access: While the standalone app is being retired, Hulu content will remain available to subscribers directly through the Disney+ app.

Standalone Subscriptions: Disney has indicated that customers will still be able to purchase a standalone Hulu subscription, but they will eventually be required to use the Disney+ interface to view content.
Example: the Disney+/Hulu bundle, you can already see select Hulu titles within the Disney+ app,

Hulu + Live TV: This service is also scheduled for integration into the Disney+ environment sometime in 2026 but at a later time.

Whats Unclear: there's no confirmed date on what day of February 2026 the integrate will fully occur and no confirmed date on when the television channels will be added layer in the year
