A company that was an American film production company and distribution studio found in New York City ion March 10th 2008 by brothers Harvey And Bob Weinstein after leaving Miramax Films known has one of the largest mini major film studios in North America.



What happened

Harvey Weinstein was fired due to sexual allegations that led to the company having financial troubles in February 2018 the company then suffered bankruptcy. Lantern Entertainment acquired most of the film library and assets. Co-founder chief executive Bob Weinstein owned a small portion of the company. the company then fired Bob Weinstein after more than 100 woman accused him of Sexual Abuse, Assault, and, Rape, on February 26 2018 the Weinstein Company then announced it would announced in a statement it would declare bankruptcy 

then the deal with Maria Contreras Bankruptcy collapsed then the Weinstein Company another deal collapsed again on May 1 2018 Lantern Capital emerged victorious on the company bankruptcy auction and liquidation sale.
