The highly anticipated HBO Original Harry Potter television series will premiere on December 25, 2026. The eight-episode first season, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the US), will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max faithful, multi-season adaptation of the original novels, giving the books the space and depth they deserve. Production officially began in July 2025 in the UK.

The first teaser trailer was released in March 2026, giving fans their first real look at the reboot. Warner Bros. Discovery has already greenlit a second season to adapt Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is expected to film from August 2026 through May 2027.
