Thunder Storms Here In Corpus Christi 05/23/2026

Lightning started around staples and swatner around 11:30 and rain started coming down around 11:46 businesses are turning on outdoor lights cuz the clouds are getting dark right now on Radar it says rain is supposed to stop around 3pm but will still be cloudy. Clouds are getting darker than normal and thunder is getting stronger. 

At 11:56 rain pressure picked up and started getting heavier while winds picked up. Lights were starting to flicker including the ones at 2018 south staples inside the Whataburger. Power went out and made them switch to the backup generator they have around 12:25.

The rain and wind slowed down at 12:45 a little while thunder and lightning was still going. Rain pressure slowed down more around 12:52. At 12:57 rain started rising again while thunder and lightning was still going while wind remained normal at that time.

At about 1:10pm the rain picked but clouds started lighting up a little. The sky started clearing up a little more around 1:30pm. Around 1:41pm the rain was light while some clouds in the area were light and some were still dark but rain slowed down around 2:48pm.
