Something you should do before watching Toy Story 5

Based on the commercial we've seen for Toy Story 5 when it comes out June 19th, I believe it’s best to watch Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 first. In Toy Story 3, we watched the toys adapt as Andy grew up, leading to the emotional transition where they are given to Bonnie. Toy Story 4 then introduced new friends like Forky and Karen Beverly. Finally, we saw Woody leave his old life behind. Since the new commercial shows Woody returning, rewatching these films will help you fully understand the journey of these characters. Simply put: these stories are all connected.
