Cristina became the third named storm of the 2026 Pacific hurricane season. However, Tropical Storm Cristina degenerated into a weak trough or low-pressure system near the coast of El Salvador.
The Atlantic has yet to have a named storm. The National Hurricane Center identified the first area of interest for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season on Wednesday morning.
